| Ararat an "RV Friendly Town" | | Ararat has been officially recognised by the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia as an ‘RV Friendly Town’ - one that happily provides amenities and services for the mobile traveller. To become recognised as an RV friendly town certain services and facilities must be available, these include: * access to medical and pharmacy services, * parking within close proximity to general shopping area with groceries & fresh produce, * service centre for basic vehicle repairs, * a Visitor Information Centre (VIC) and town map with essential services, * access to potable water, * access to Dump Point, * provision of short term(24/48/72 hour) parking within 2.5km of town centre, * provision of longer term parking within 5-10km of town centre, at a reasonable rate, * 'RV Friendly Town' signs to be erected at town entrances.

| ARARAT & GRAMPIANS VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE The centre is located at the upgraded Ararat Railway Station on the western Highway and is the main provider of visitor information in Ararat. Through a partnership of both permanent and volunteer staff, the Ararat Visitor Information Centre is dedicated to enhancing Ararat and the regions reputation as a friendly and welcoming area to visit.
Recognised as the Gateway to the Grampians and indeed one of the four Cities of the Grampians, Ararat also plays a pivotal role in promoting the extremely popular and internationally acclaimed Grampians and its hinterland.
Opening Hours The Ararat Visitor Information Centre is open 9.00am til 5.00pm daily and is closed on Christmas Day.
