Ararat Rural City Council provides a weekly waste collection service to all townsites within the municipality. This service is also available to rural residents who are able to place a bin for collection on the rural truck routes.

In addition a fortnightly kerbside recycling service is provided to all households in the Ararat Township area. Rural residents can access extensive recycling facilities at Transfer Stations throughout the municipality.
