Ararat Rural City Australia Day Awards 2022 - nominations now open

AUSTRALIA DAY AWARDS 2022 NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN!

 

Each year Ararat Rural City Council presents awards to local citizens and community groups that have made an outstanding contribution to the community. The awards not only recognise the contribution within the community but the ongoing commitment undertaken by all individuals for the benefit of the community.

 

It is an opportunity to honour individuals or groups who continued to make a difference to the Ararat Rural City community in the past year.

 

The 2022 Australia Day Awards will be presented at the annual Australia Day celebration on 26th January 2022 at Alexandra Oval Community Centre, Waratah Avenue, Ararat. More details on this event will be released closer to the date.

 

The four awards presented will be Citizen of the Year, Community Project of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year.

 

Nominations must be emailed (council@ararat.vic.gov.au) or returned to Council Offices (59 Vincent St, Ararat) by 5pm MONDAY 17 January 2022 (deadline has been extended from 14 January to 17 January).

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 

Citizen of the Year:

An individual who is an Australian Citizen and either resides or works in the Ararat Rural City, who has either made an outstanding contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the community of the Ararat Rural City over a number of years.

Community Project of the Year:

An individual/group or organisation that has made an outstanding contribution in bringing the whole community together.

Young Citizen of the Year:

A young individual who is an Australian Citizen and either resides or works in the Ararat Rural City, who has either made an outstanding contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the community of the Ararat Rural City over a number of years.

Volunteer of the Year:

An individual/group or organisation that has devoted their time and effort into assisting the community where they can. They inspire the community as a role model and have a high level of voluntary contribution beyond paid employment.
