Chief Executive Officer – Andrew Evans
Andrew Evans has been the CEO of the Ararat Rural City Council since 2011.
He has an extensive background at an executive level in both Local Government and the private sector.
Having been appointed to his first managerial role in 1992, he has more than 20 years management experience. Andrew has been CEO at a variety of organisations since his first appointment at Chief Executive level at Dungog Shire Council in August 2000.
Andrew lives in Ararat with his wife Karen and is involved with a number of local community organisations.
He is a keen thespian having performed lead roles in many productions over the years, particularly musicals.
He has also been a beekeeper for the past 15 years and has a small apiary on his property on the edge of town. He is very happy to live in such a beautiful pristine part of the state, with the mountains and forests that surround our town and in particular the yellow box trees that provide such wonderful honey.
Executive Leadership Group (ELG)
The members of Council's Executive Leadership Group have a wide variety of professional experience across both Local Government and the private sector.
Each one has been chosen specifically for their expertise, qualifications, and ability to improve Council's effectiveness. Between them they manage an annual budget in the vicinty of $29m, across diverse areas.
They all live within the municipality and own homes here, with three of them being locally born & bred.
