Established in 1968, Ararat Regional Art Gallery has a unique place amongst Australia's public galleries, through its longstanding commitment to supporting and promoting textile and fibre art - a curatorial and collection focus that began in the early 1970s.
Today the collection is arguably the most significant of its kind in Australia. This is because the gallery has continuously collected textile and fibre based art since the early 1970s.
The gallery is set to reopen in 2018 will a new space devoted to the collection. We look forward to sharing these special artworks with you then.
