Ararat Arts Precinct Redevelopment progressing well

The Ararat Arts Precinct Redevelopment Project reached another milestone this week with the placement of precast concrete panels for the lift shaft servicing the new greenroom and gallery basement storage areas.
A 150 tonne crane was used to manoeuvre the panels into position whilst riggers at ground level made the fine adjustments securing the panels in place.
Whilst this higher profile work was in progress less obvious activity was going on within and around the building.
All structural works are complete in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) foyer and lounge areas, as are the majority of electrical and mechanical services works with plastering and painting well advanced.
The new gallery and storage areas are ready for painting, plasterers are working in the gallery foyer and café and the old gallery upgrade is essentially complete.
Externally all underground services are now in place including new fire mains, gas main, power and water services with work underway on upgrading the entrance to the PAC, with a new accessibility compliant concrete ramp and as series of concrete steps.
Works are proceeding at a good pace with completion forecast for May 2018, and bookings available from mid-August 2018.
The project is proudly funded by the state and federal governments, the Ararat Community and Ararat Rural City Council.
