Ararat lies at an important junction of several highways about 198 kilometres north west of Melbourne.
Duplication of the Western highway between Ballarat and Stawell will reduce travel time and improve road safety. However, travellors may expereince delays with ongoing works. For more information go to Western Highway Duplication Project.
Trains run directly to Ararat from Southern Cross Station daily with coach connections to Halls Gap, Hamilton, Warrnambool and Horsham. You can check the timetable by visiting the V-Line website - just click here.
