Ararat Rural City Council is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy Digital Operations Officer to join our Organisational Transformation team.

About the role
As our Digital Operations Officer, you’ll provide high-level technical support and maintenance across Council’s ICT infrastructure, ensuring systems, devices, and networks operate efficiently, securely and reliably.
You’ll work with Microsoft 365 and cloud platforms, manage IT hardware and software, assist with user accounts and access controls, and play a hands-on role in implementing new technologies and process improvements.
You’ll also:
- Coordinate and resolve IT support requests across the organisation
- Manage asset lifecycles for Council’s ICT hardware
- Provide user training and support on Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
- Contribute to system upgrades, cybersecurity, and digital transformation projects
- Collaborate with internal teams and external providers to maintain a secure, efficient digital environment

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- A collaborative, can-do attitude and commitment to continuous improvement
Tertiary qualifications (or progress towards completion) in Information Technology are desirable, and industry certifications such as Microsoft credentials will be highly regarded.
