2026 Australia Day Ceremony: Council invites you to join us to celebrate and honour local achievements at our annual Australia Day ceremony at Alexandra Oval Community Centre on Monday 26 January. Community BBQ starts at 9am, followed by a 10am award presentation.

In conjunction with BGT and VicRoads, Ararat Neighbourhood House is hosting free road safety lessons for newly arrived migrants and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD) who are over the age of 21.

The objective is to increase road safety knowledge, awareness and skills.

Lessons will be held across five two-hour sessions with an experienced instructor, covering:

  • Key risk factors for road users
  • How to share the road safely as a driver, pedestrian, cyclist, motorcyclist or public transport user. 
  • Enforcement of road rules.
