Media & Communications Officer

Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for public engagement? Join Ararat Rural City Council and play a key role in shaping how we connect with our community.

We're looking for a proactive and creative Media and Communications Officer to lead content creation, manage media relations, and deliver impactful campaigns across digital and traditional platforms.

What You’ll Do:

  • Write engaging media releases, web content, and newsletters
  • Manage social media and support marketing campaigns
  • Respond to media enquiries and build strong media relationships
  • Help deliver consistent, clear communication to our community

About You:

  • Strong writing, editing, and digital communication skills
  • Experience in media, communications, or public relations
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • A relevant qualification in Communications, PR, or Journalism
