Ararat Rural City Council Launches Expressions of Interest for New Coding Club
Coding Club will provide a collaborative space where students can work on projects, develop their problem-solving skills and spark their creativity. Coding Club teaches aspiring young tech enthusiasts practical coding skills and how to apply digital logic, preparing them for future opportunities in a rapidly evolving digital world.
Students will collaborate to design and build digital games, learning essential concepts like programming, mathematics, computational thinking, and logic.
Creativity Bytes will deliver the program, in partnership with Council, as part of their Creative Youth Coding Program. The program is designed to provide young people from diverse backgrounds with access to foundational STEM education.
The program goes beyond coding basics, incorporating advanced topics such as trigonometry, modular arithmetic, and game mechanics to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Coding Club is suitable for children aged 8 to 10. Sessions will be held weekly at the Ararat Library on Wednesdays from 4pm to 5pm. Participants will need to bring along their own laptop.
