Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Blood Bus nearly booked out ahead of Ararat return
Ararat Rural City residents have once again shown their strong community spirit, with only a handful of appointments remaining for the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Blood Bus visit from 5 to 9 May 2026.
The mobile donor centre will be set up at the Ararat RSL/Ararat Library car park at 74–76 High Street, Ararat, providing convenient access for locals to roll up their sleeves and donate life-saving blood.
With just a few bookings left, residents are encouraged to act quickly to secure one of the final spots. The strong response is a fantastic result for the Ararat community, demonstrating the generosity and willingness of locals to support those in need.
Australian Red Cross Lifeblood continues to call on donors, particularly those with type O and A blood, to help maintain critical supplies. Nationally, more than 13,000 donations were needed over the Easter period alone to support patients experiencing injury, accidents, emergencies, cancer treatment, blood disorders, and surgery.
Mayor Cr Bob Sanders said the near-capacity bookings were something the whole community should be proud of. “Our community has once again stepped up in an incredible way. To see the Blood Bus almost fully booked ahead of its arrival is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the generosity of Ararat residents,” Cr Sanders said.
“Donating blood is a simple, practical way we can look after each other. If you can secure one of the final appointments, I encourage you to do so and be part of this life-saving effort.”
