Council to Host Community Drop-In Sessions Across Municipality in June
Ararat Rural City Council is hitting the road this June, with Councillors and Council staff set to visit communities across the municipality for a series of informal drop-in sessions.
The Community Drop-In Sessions will be held from 29 June 2026 in Ararat, Warrak, Streatham, Willaura, Moyston, Pomonal, Wickliffe and Lake Bolac, providing residents with an opportunity to speak directly with Council representatives in a relaxed and accessible setting.
The sessions are designed to support open conversation and ensure community perspectives continue to inform Council’s day-to-day operations and long term planning.
Ararat Rural City Mayor Cr Bob Sanders said the sessions are an important way for Council to stay connected with the community. “Getting out into our towns and sitting down with people face to face gives us a clearer understanding of what matters most to our communities,” Mayor Sanders said. “These conversations help shape our planning, guide our decision making, and ensure we are delivering services and projects that reflect local needs.”
The sessions also support Council’s broader commitment to transparent communication, providing updates on current projects and creating space to discuss ideas, opportunities, and potential future initiatives.
Residents are encouraged to drop in at a time that suits them, whether for a quick chat or a longer discussion. Session times and locations are as follows:
Monday 29 June 2026
- Ararat Library: 4.00pm to 4.45pm
- Warrak Hall: 5.15pm to 6.00pm
Tuesday 30 June 2026
- Streatham Hall: 4.15pm to 5.00pm
Wednesday 1 July 2026
- Moyston Hall: 3.15pm to 4.00pm
- Pomonal Hall: 4.30pm to 5.15pm
Thursday 2 July 2026
- Willaura Hall: 3.30pm to 4.15pm
- Wickliffe Recreation Reserve: 4:45pm to 5.30pm
- Lake Bolac Memorial Hall: 6.00pm to 6.45pm
