Warm Winter Reads Challenge Returns to the Library

As the winter weather sets in, now is the perfect time to snuggle up with a good book and conquer your reading list!

The Warm Winter Read challenge is back for its fourth year, an annual event designed to encourage long-lasting reading habits.

Grab a book from your "to be read" pile, finish one you started months ago, or discover something new on our Library shelves. The challenge is open to anyone aged 16 and up, and includes audiobooks, graphic novels, and magazines.

To participate, simply track each day you read between Wednesday 1 June and Sunday 31 August 2025, for a chance to win some great book-themed prizes.

Participants will need to register via the ReadBooks website and track their reading efforts online or visit one of our friendly local librarians at the Ararat Library for assistance.

For more information, please contact the Ararat Library on (03) 5352 1722.

"This reading challenge is a great way for community members to build lasting reading habits, discover new stories, and connect with the fantastic resources at our libraries,” says Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison.

"Initiatives like this are key to promoting literacy and lifelong learning, both of which are essential for our community. I really encourage everyone to get involved and enjoy the journey of a good book.”
