In a joint project between Ararat Rural City Council and Gaia EnviroTech, Council is making high quality and reasonably priced compost available to the community.
The compost is created from green waste collected within the municipality, processed and pasteurised at the Ararat Transfer Station, and batch-tested to ensure it meets AS4454 quality standards.

Eligibility
- Compost is only available for customers who reside or own property within the Ararat Rural City area.
Order Minimum and Maximum
- Minimum order: 5 tonnes
- Maximum order for delivery: 19 tonnes
- Orders exceeding 19 tonnes: Customers must arrange their own transportation.
Pricing
- Compost price: $90.00 per tonne
Delivery and Collection
- Maximum order for delivery: 19 tonnes
- Delivery fee: $3.00 per km for deliveries outside the Ararat city limits.
- Orders exceeding 19 tonnes: Customers must arrange their own transportation.
- Pick Up: Orders can be picked up by appointment only.

- The compost you are purchasing is made to AS4454 standards. It is made from organic material that has been through a controlled process of natural aerobic composting. Sources includes home green bin, garden pruning and food organics.
- While every effort is made to screen out inorganic material, this product may contain an occasional fragment of plastic, metal or glass.
