Harriett Goodall

Join us for an Artist Talk presented by Harriet Goodall on Friday 13th March 2026, 11am – 12pm.

Harriet Goodall is an Australian fibre sculptor who transforms natural and reclaimed materials into expressive, large-scale works exploring identity, place, and ecological connection. Raised on a rural cropping and grazing property, her deep connection to the Australian landscape continues to shape her practice. Drawing on basketry, tapestry, painting, and metalwork, she creates contemporary sculptures rich in texture and pattern.

After completing a BA in Communications (Theatre/Media), Goodall worked internationally in media, music, and events, including Film4, the Edinburgh International Festival, and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Ceremonies. In 2005, she and her husband co-founded Warp & Weft, a Fair Trade venture with Indigenous Andean weavers in South America. The experience sparked her enduring commitment to natural dyes, fibres, and traditional weaving, and catalysed her own studio practice.

For nearly two decades, Goodall has maintained studios on Gundungurra land in regional NSW and completed commissioned works for private and commercial collections. For the past four years, she has presented annual solo exhibitions with Gallery Jennings Kerr. She leads international retreats with ACE Camps and teaches thousands globally through her signature online basketry course, Form to Freedom. A recent Stage 3 breast cancer survivor, Harriet has returned to her creative practice with renewed clarity and purpose.
