Shop, Skate, Celebrate – Late-Night Shopping in Ararat

Friday 12 December 2025 | 5pm–9pm | Barkly Street, Ararat CBD

Celebrate the festive season in the heart of Ararat with a special late-night shopping event!

Ararat Rural City Council is encouraging local traders to keep their doors open until 9pm on Friday 12 December for a night of shopping, community connection, and Christmas cheer.

Barkly Street will come alive as local retailers and cafes welcome customers for Shop, Skate, Celebrate, coinciding with the launch of Skate into Summer at the Ararat Town Hall, an exciting new ice-skating experience running from 12 to 14 December. Families and visitors can skate, shop, and soak up the festive atmosphere, making it the perfect night out in the CBD.

The evening will also feature the announcement of the Greater Ararat Business Network’s 12 Days of Christmas promotion winner, with $1,500 in local vouchers up for grabs. Shoppers can enter the draw by supporting participating GABN member stores from 12 November.

Council is encouraging everyone to shop local, support small business, and enjoy the friendly, personal service that makes Ararat Rural City special this festive season.
