Billy Billy Creek Bridge Strengthening
The bridge crossing Billy Billy Creek on Buangor-Ben Nevis Road (1km north of the Western Highway) will be improved to make it safer and stronger for light and heavy vehicles, with works starting in April 2026.
Works will include:
- Reconstructing the road on the bridge deck.
- Adding a reinforced concrete layer around the existing supports (abutments).
About the project
This work is part of a $10.68M package of works being carried out over the next three years to fix the road and bridges along Buangor-Ben Nevis Road south of Warrak to the Western Highway, to make them safer for all road users including heavy transport.
Road access
The road will be accessible to local traffic from each direction, however there will be no access across the bridge during works. Vehicles seeking to travel between Warrak and the Western Highway must follow signed detour routes.
