Mount Cole Creek Bridge Reconstruction

A new wider, safer bridge has been constructed on Buangor-Ben Nevis Road over Mount Cole Creek at Warrak starting January 2026.

The original bridge was more than 70 years old and must be replaced as a matter of priority for public safety. The new bridge has been:

• Built to last at least 100 years.
• Dual carriage so cars and trucks can safely pass each other.
• More resistant to trash and debris build up during heavy flows due to its new double span design (replacing the current five span 
• design).
• Compliant with SM1600 load ratings.
• Flood immune.
• Feature modern safety barriers.
