Ararat bustling with school holiday activities

Ararat has a range of activities to check out over the Summer holidays!

From a treasure hunt, art workshop at the Gallery, indoor pool party at the Ararat Fitness Centre to Movie Mondays at the Library; Ararat Rural City Council has a range of fun activities planned for families during the summer holidays.

The newly launched ‘Summer Holiday Treasure Hunt’ will see participants explore public spaces within Ararat, while collecting clues and stamps along the way. The treasure hunt will run until 27 January with prizes to be won for taking part in the hunt, and many things to discover along the way.

Mayor of Ararat Rural City Council, Cr Jo Armstrong said local families are invited to join in the fantastic range of free to low-cost interactive activities for the whole family, including the Summer Holiday Treasure Hunt.

“Ararat has a range of activities to get the kids out and about during the summer school holidays. From a Basketball Clinic, Indoor Pool Party to Art Workshops -- there’s an activity for everyone,” Cr Armstrong said.

“Local families and visitors are also encouraged to take part in an exciting new activity, the ‘Summer Holiday Treasure Hunt’ -- it’s a self-guided activity the whole family can participate in.

“This is a great opportunity for our community and visitors to explore town and take a closer look at our parks, laneways, arts and cultural precinct, and recreational spaces.

“The treasure hunt is wonderful initiative to draw visitors back to the Ararat CBD and celebrate our region’s ongoing transformation.”

To participate in the treasure hunt, visit Ararat Visitor Information Centre to collect your activity map. All completed entries will receive a prize of an outdoor pool pass. To be eligible to win the Junior Kayak, complete the treasure map by correctly answering all questions and collecting three stamps to enter the draw. Competition closes 27 January 2023.
