Ararat Rural City Council Celebrates Community Strength Highlighted on ABC Landline
Ararat Rural City Council is thrilled to celebrate our participation in the recent ABC Landline feature which aired on Sunday 7 September, and highlighted the vital contribution of migrants to our community.
While many businesses are focused on addressing local workforce shortages, this important piece showcases how our community comes together, embracing diversity, and building opportunities for everyone who calls Ararat Rural City home.
Council warmly thanks all participants featured in the program, as well as the local businesses and residents who continuously support newcomers. The stories shared on ABC Landline are a testament to the resilience, compassion, and hard work that define Ararat’s community spirit.
Deputy Mayor Bob Sanders said, “Our municipality's strength lies in its people. The way neighbours, newcomers, and long-standing residents support each other and work together makes us truly unique. Our community’s welcoming attitude means that everyone has a role to play in our city’s future, and I am proud to see us highlighted in such a positive light.”
From Council’s perspective, opportunities like this media coverage shine a light on the everyday heroes who make Ararat Rural City a great place to live, work and play. We thank ABC Landline and all who shared their stories, dedicating their effort and energy to our collective success.
Ararat Rural City Council stands committed to fostering a spirit of unity and inclusion, ensuring that every resident, regardless of background, feels valued, safe, and empowered in our community.
