Ararat Rural City Council visiting communities next week
Ararat Rural City Council is heading out across the municipality, with Councillors and Council staff visiting eight townships from Wednesday 17 December to Friday 19 December.
The team will spend time in Ararat, Elmhurst, Buangor, Willaura, Moyston, Pomonal, Mininera and Lake Bolac, with sessions scheduled from late afternoon into the evening to ensure accessibility for students, parents, day workers and seniors.
These sessions provide an open, informal opportunity for residents to speak directly with Councillors and Council staff about what matters most to them. These community conversations will help inform future decision-making and guide Council’s strategic direction.
The visits will also provide a safe and welcoming space to brainstorm ideas with Councillors and staff, who’ll also update the community on projects, initiatives and programs delivered over the past year and listen to feedback.
Council will also take the opportunity to help the community with some practical activities such as downloading and using tools such as Snap Send Solve and the VicEmergency app.
Mayor Cr Bob Sanders said similar sessions held earlier this year were well attended and offered valuable insights that have since been incorporated into Council’s daily operations and planning.
“Next week’s sessions offer another chance for residents to share views, ask questions, raise concerns, or simply have a friendly chat,” said Cr Sanders. “It’s important the Councillors and Council staff regularly get out into the communities to meet residents and strengthen community relationships. It’s also a good chance to ensure residents remain informed about things that matter to them. Any feedback gathered on the day will help us do our job better. I hope to see residents of all ages popping in to have a chat, even for a few minutes.”

- Elmhurst Hall: 7.30pm to 8.30pm
- Buangor Cobb & Co: 5pm to 5.45pm
Thursday 18 December 2025
- Willaura Bakery: 4.15pm to 5pm
Friday 19 December 2025
- Moyston General Store: 3.15pm to 4pm
- Pomonal General Store: 4.30pm to 5.15pm
- Mininera Rec Reserve: 5.15pm to 6.00pm
- Lake Bolac Pub: 6.45pm - 7.30pm
