Celebrating Ramadan

Ararat Rural City Council proudly supports the Islamic community as they commence the holy month of Ramadan on Tuesday, March 12th. Muslims in Ararat will observe fasting from early morning (5:40 am) until sunset (7:44 pm) for one lunar month, fostering spiritual reflection and unity within the community. 

This year, the Ararat Islamic Welfare Association Inc (AIWA) and the Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV), will host the fast-breaking (Iftar) event at the Ararat Town Hall, with the support of Ararat Rural City Council AIWA and ICV express gratitude to council for their support. 

All community members are warmly invited to join the Iftar dinner on March 23, 2024, at Ararat Town Hall. To secure a spot, please RSVP by March 15, 2024 directly to [email protected]. The event, expecting around 200 people from diverse faiths, aims to reinforce family and community bonds, fostering engagement with other faith communities. 

In the spirit of Ramadan, the Islamic Council of Victoria, in partnership with the Ararat Islamic Welfare Association, invites everyone to attend the Regional Iftar Dinner on March 23, 2024, at Ararat Town Hall. 

The program includes a visit to the new AIWA AICC (Mosque Project) in Baird Street at 5:30 pm, arrival at the Town hall for 6.15pm with the event commencing at 6.30pm. 

Your presence will contribute to strengthening bonds and fostering cooperation with Victoria's Muslim and multicultural communities.
