Community Survey Extended for Ararat Sport and Active Recreation Strategy
Submissions for Ararat Rural City Council’s Ararat Sport and Active Recreation Strategy Consultation Survey have been extended to encourage more community members to have their say.
Council would like to understand how we can activate and improve our sport and active recreation facilities, as well as how we can encourage more people in the community to be more active.
The survey results will assist Council to develop its Sport and Active Recreation Strategy, an initiative which aims to improve sports and active recreation facilities, programs and services across the municipality over the next ten years. This initiative is supported by the Victorian Government.
The survey has been prepared in collaboration with sport, recreation and community planning consultancy, Communityvibe, and is open now on Engage Ararat (via an external link to Survey Monkey) until 5pm on Tuesday 15 July 2025.
Council held community drop-in sessions last month, as well as engaged with sports clubs and organisations directly so that members can provide feedback via their club. Club members are also encouraged to share their thoughts via the online survey.
“An active community is a thriving one, and we believe sport and recreation contribute greatly to everyone’s overall health and well-being,” says Ararat Rural City Council Deputy Mayor, Cr Bob Sanders.
“We want to hear from the community on how we can encourage more community members to get active, as well as their thoughts on what sport and active recreation initiatives need to be better supported.”
