Council Calls on Young People to Step Up and Join the YEAH Crew
Ararat Rural City Council is excited to announce that Expressions of Interest are now open for 2026 for motivated individuals aged 12 to 25 to join YEAH Crew.
YEAH Crew is aimed at empowering young people who are ready to lead, learn, and make a positive impact in their community, and it’s seeking young people who want to develop their skills, collaborate with peers, and help shape events that inspire and connect our region’s young people.
The YEAH Crew offers a unique opportunity for its members to create and organise innovative events. Crew members will gain hands-on experience in event planning, leadership, communication, and teamwork, all while networking with local organisations and professionals.
Council is looking for creative thinkers who are passionate about career development, education, and building social networks. Successful applicants will attend regular team meetings, contribute fresh ideas for activities, and play an active role in promoting and hosting inclusive events that benefit the entire youth community.
Expressions of interest close at 5pm on Friday 19 December 2025. To apply, applicants are encouraged to visit the Council’s Engage Ararat platform or contact Pre-Prep Project Coordinator Nerissa Gee for more information on [email protected] or (03) 5355 0257.
Mayor Bob Sanders said the initiative is “A chance for our young people to put their voices and creativity to work, driving events and opportunities that are tailored just for them. We know how much potential exists right here in Ararat, and I urge every young person who’s keen to get involved and make a difference to put their hand up. The YEAH Crew is about creating a space where new ideas are welcomed, futures are shaped, and young leaders come together to support one another.”
This initiative is delivered through the Engage! 2025–27 program, with support from the Victorian Government. https://engage.ararat.vic.gov.au/expressions-interest-join-yeah-crew
