Council To Commence Albert Street Footpath And Drainage Upgrade
Ararat Rural City Council will commence works on a footpath and drainage upgrade along Albert Street, between Currajong and Grano streets, from Monday 10 August 2026.
The project will include improvements to footpaths and nature strips, with a focus on enhancing pedestrian accessibility and addressing drainage issues in the area. Works will be undertaken by O’Brien Concrete and are expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Roads will remain open throughout the construction period, ensuring continued access for local residents and traffic.
Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison said the project reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving local infrastructure.
“Upgrading footpaths and improving drainage in residential areas supports safer, more accessible streets for our community,” Dr Harrison said.
“These works are part of our broader approach to ensuring infrastructure is fit for purpose, while responding to local needs and long-term asset management priorities.”
Council thanks residents for their patience during the works period.
