Council Community Drop-in Sessions Coming to Towns Across Ararat Rural City
Ararat Rural City Council is inviting residents to meet with Councillors and staff at a series of community drop-in sessions across the municipality this September.
The sessions provide an opportunity for community members to share ideas, ask questions, provide feedback, and hear updates on Council projects and initiatives.
Mayor Cr Bob Sanders said the sessions were a direct way for Council to connect with people in their own towns. “Councillors and staff are looking forward to getting out and having a chat with people about what is happening in their communities,” Mayor Sanders said. “These sessions are a good opportunity to raise an idea, ask a question, or let us know what is on your mind. We want to hear directly from our residents, because local knowledge and feedback help Council make better decisions.”
Community members are welcome to attend their nearest session:
Monday 14 September:
- Ararat Alexandra Oval Community Centre, 5.00 pm to 5.45 pm.
Wednesday 16 September:
- Tatyoon Recreation Reserve, 3.30 pm to 4.15 pm;
- Buangor Cobb & Co, 5.00 pm to 5.45 pm; and
- Elmhurst Pub, 6.30 pm to 7.15 pm.
Friday 18 September:
- Pomonal Hall meeting room, 10.00 am to 10.45 am;
- Moyston Hall, 11.15 am to 12.00 pm;
- outside Willaura Bakery, 12.30 pm to 1.15 pm; and
- Lake Bolac Memorial Hall, 1.45 pm to 2.30 pm.
Mayor Sanders encouraged residents to come along, whether they had a specific matter to raise or simply wanted to meet their elected representatives and Council staff. “Sometimes the best conversations happen when people can sit down face to face and talk things through,” he said.
“If you cannot make it to a session, please still get in touch. Our customer service team is always available to take enquiries and feedback by phone, email, or in person.”
