Council Partnership Delivers Another Highly Successful Youth Program
Ararat Rural City Council Deputy Mayor, Cr Teli Kaur, joined Year 8 and 9 students from Marian College last week to take part in Crazy Ideas College’s Ideas2Life program.
Building on the Social Innovators program in Term 2, where students pitched solutions to address community issues they care about, the Ideas2Life program gave them a hands-on opportunity to test, refine, and problem-solve how to bring those ideas into the real world.
The program provides students with an opportunity to work through the practical steps required to bring their ideas into an actionable project by developing a Project Plan that identifies the problem they are addressing, their proposed solution, who it will benefit, the resources and support they need, and the steps required to make it happen.
The program is proudly supported by Ararat Rural City Council and delivered by Crazy Ideas College as part of the Ararat Youth Activators program.
"When you listen to our young people, you realise right away that they aren't just waiting around for the future, they have their own ideas and perspectives to make a real difference in our community,” said Ararat Rural City CEO, Dr Tim Harrison.
“By giving our younger generation a seat at the table, we're showing them that their voices really do matter in shaping where we live. I can't wait to see the positive impact they're going to make."

When young people are given the opportunity to step up, share their ideas and contribute to community life, they begin to see themselves as active participants in shaping the future of Ararat, benefiting the entire community.”
