Due to Popular Demand: Extra Elmhurst Emergency Planning Workshop Announced
A new round of Community Emergency Management Planning workshops, facilitated by The Six C’s with support from Emergency Recovery Victoria, is set to roll out across September and October 2025.
Due to overwhelming community interest, an additional Elmhurst workshop has been added to the program, giving more residents the chance to participate.
These workshops focus on developing tailored strategies that address local risks while drawing on the wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience already within the community. By identifying local strengths and assets, participants will strengthen preparedness, improve response, and enhance recovery capabilities for future emergencies.
Ararat Rural City Council Deputy Mayor, Cr Bob Sanders, encouraged residents to get involved.
“These workshops are about locals leading the way. By bringing our knowledge together, we create stronger, more practical plans that ensure our communities are ready to face challenges and recover quickly. Elmhurst residents have shown such enthusiasm, and it’s fantastic to see that commitment to shaping a safer future.”
