Ella Hooper Brings The Songs of Linda Ronstadt to Ararat Town Hall
Ararat Rural City Council is pleased to welcome Ella Hooper and an all-star band to the Ararat Town Hall on Saturday 12 September 2026 for The Linda Ronstadt Show.
The concert will celebrate the much-loved songs and story of American singer Linda Ronstadt, whose catalogue spans country, rock, folk, and pop. Audiences can expect favourites including You’re No Good, It’s So Easy, Blue Bayou, When Will I Be Loved, Long, Long Time, Silver Threads and Golden Needles, and Willin’.
Hooper will front a Melbourne-based all-star band, including musicians from the Deadnecks collective, for an evening celebrating one of the defining voices of the 1970s.
Originally from Violet Town in north-east Victoria, Hooper first came to national attention as the co-founder and lead singer of Killing Heidi, formed with her brother Jesse when she was just 13. The band became one of Australia’s best-known acts of the early 2000s, with hit singles, sold-out tours, and the number one album Reflector.
Hooper has since built an accomplished solo career across rock, folk, country, and Americana. Her 2023 album Small Town Temple, inspired by her regional Victorian upbringing and written in Violet Town, debuted at number one on the Australian Country chart and was nominated for the Australian Music Prize. She has also become familiar to television and radio audiences through programs including Spicks and Specks, RocKwiz, Jo Stanley’s Broad Radio and ABC TV’s HEADLiNERS.
Ararat Rural City Council Mayor Cr Bob Sanders said the event would be a great opportunity for local audiences to enjoy a night of outstanding live music at the Town Hall. “Ella Hooper is a terrific Australian performer with strong regional Victorian roots, and she brings a lot of experience, personality, and musical range to a show like this,” Cr Sanders said.
“Linda Ronstadt’s songs have stood the test of time, and people will know plenty of them from the first note. It will be a great night out at the Town Hall, with a quality band and a performer who knows how to connect with an audience.”

The Linda Ronstadt Show will be held at Ararat Town Hall on Saturday 12 September 2026. Doors and the bar will open at 7.00pm, with the performance commencing at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from $66, with table seating closest to the stage available for $77. Guests are welcome to bring platters for table seating, with drinks available to purchase at the bar.
