Entries Extended For 2026 East Grampians Business Awards

Ararat Rural City Council has extended the closing date for entries to the 2026 East Grampians Business Awards by one week, following strong interest from businesses across the municipality.

Businesses now have until 5pm on Friday 4 September 2026 to submit their entries.

The Awards recognise businesses of all sizes across the greater Ararat area, including rural and CBD-based enterprises, and provide an opportunity for local operators to reflect on their achievements, showcase their work, and gain feedback from an independent judging panel.

Council has refreshed the Awards categories for 2026 to reflect the range of ways local businesses are adapting, investing, and creating opportunities. Categories include the Future-Ready Business Award, Experience Creator Award, Bold Move Award, Made Here Award, and Outstanding Customer Service Award, alongside Business of the Year and the People’s Choice Award.

Ararat Rural City Council Chief Executive Officer Dr Tim Harrison said the extension would give more local businesses the opportunity to take part. “We have had a very positive response to this year’s Awards, and we know many business owners are balancing their applications alongside the day-to-day demands of running a business,” Dr Harrison said.

“Extending the deadline by a week gives businesses a little more time to tell their story, reflect on what they have achieved, and put themselves forward for recognition.”

“The Awards are an opportunity to acknowledge the work being done by businesses across our municipality, from those embracing new technology and improving customer experiences, through to those creating jobs, backing local suppliers, and contributing to the broader local economy.”

Businesses may enter more than one category, with a separate application required for each category entered. Finalists and winners will receive promotion across a range of media channels, recognition at the 2026 Gala Celebration, and opportunities to profile their business.

The winners will be announced at the East Grampians Business Awards Gala Celebration at Ararat Town Hall on Wednesday 28 October 2026.
