Get Ready, Council’s Winter School Holiday Program is Here!

Ararat Rural City Council is pleased to announce its Winter School Holiday Program, jam-packed with lots of fun activities to keep the kids entertained throughout the upcoming school holidays.

Kids events will be held from Monday 7 July to Thursday 17 July, and will include a range of free activities such as Extended Lego, Movie Monday, NAIDOC Craft and Game Time Trials at the Ararat Library.

Ararat Gallery TAMA will host drop-in NAIDOC Week inspired activities, as well as a special NAIDOC Week program led by Kirrae Whurrung artist Brett Clarke.

As part of the school holiday program activities, Jon & Jero will bring their show to Ararat Town Hall, promising an hour of silly proportions combining physical comedy, big characters, and improvisation. These bumbling brothers will travel far and wide to get their STUFF back in the fast and fun choose-your-own-adventure for the whole family!

The Jon & Jero performance will be held on Tuesday 8 July, from 11am – 11.50am, with a workshop from 1pm. Suited for children aged 5 and up. Tickets: $5 - $30 for the performance, and $5 for the workshop. Tickets available via the Ararat Town Hall website.

“We’re very pleased to be able to offer such a diverse and engaging Winter School Holiday Program, including a special NAIDOC Week program this year," says Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Jo Armstrong.

"There's truly something for every child to enjoy during the break. It's a fantastic opportunity for our young residents to explore new interests, be creative, and make lasting memories in a safe and welcoming environment across our wonderful facilities.”
