Helendoite Road Bridge Construction progressing well

The Helendoite Road Bridge construction is progressing smoothly with significant developments taking place this week as the pouring of abutments and pile cap is undertaken.

“This major project is part of the capital works program for the Council for 2023/2024 and is part of the vital agricultural transport link to Lakuput Grain Storage and other storage facilities to the south of the municipality,” CEO Dr Tim Harrison commented. “The Helendoite Road Bridge holds significant importance for the local community and as a school bus route to the nearby Maroona Primary School”.

The project commenced in early January 2024, with the demolition of the existing bridge in preparation for the installation of a new 25 metre InQuik bridge kit, with pouring of pilings, abutments and a central pile cap being completed this week, a major milestone is reached in completing the foundational works and supports for the bridge construction.

The next stages will be the installation of the innovative InQuik bridge system, known for its efficiency and durability, designed to expedite construction without compromising any structural integrity and followed by the road approaches and guardrails ensuring the safety of all road users.

Dr Tim Harrison said “The project is on track to be completed by the end of March showing Councils commitment to in-housing many of our Council’s projects can be successfully delivered on time and in budget”
