Ararat Rural City Council has been made aware of a potential phone scam operating in our region.
Residents in Ararat have reported receiving phone calls from an individual impersonating an Ararat Rural City Council staff member – this individual is claiming to be conducting a survey on issues that are unrelated to Council business.
One example of this is someone conducting a survey asking for details of your mortgage. Be aware of calls seeking financial details or urging you to take immediate action.
Ararat Rural City Council will only contact you regarding Council services and initiatives - we will not ask you to provide or update personal details over the phone.
