Pomonal Native Flower Show to Return this October

Ararat Rural City’s biggest gardening event of the year, The Pomonal Native Flower Show, returns this year, and will be held at Pomonal Community Hall on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of October.

Hosted by the Australian Plant Society Grampians Group (APS GG), the annual Show highlights a vibrant array of native Australian flora. Visitors can enjoy expert advice, special guest speakers, market stalls, plant and book sales, and refreshments.

This year’s show puts the spotlight on all things Grevillea! The weekend program is packed with inspiration for garden enthusiasts. Conservationist and horticulturist Neil Macumber explores small grevilleas for home gardens, while native flora and fauna enthusiast Dave Binch shares practical tips for building wildlife-friendly habitats. Attendees can also take part in an interactive, hands-on Grevillea grafting demonstration.

It’s fantastic to see our local community and visitors come together to celebrate our unique native flora, and focusing on grevilleas this year is going to bring so much life to gardens across the municipality,” says Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Bob Sanders. 

“Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just looking for a great day out with expert advice and market stalls, there’s something for everyone."
