School Holiday Fun Continues Across Ararat Rural City
Ararat Rural City Council is inviting families to make the most of the second week of the spring school holidays, with hands-on activities, performances, movies, art, swimming, and plenty of reasons to spend a day in town.
From now until Friday 2 October, children and young people can enjoy a varied program across Ararat Gallery TAMA, Ararat Fitness Centre, Ararat Town Hall, and local community venues.
The program includes Movie Monday and an extended LEGO Club at Ararat Gallery TAMA, PlayGym and Aqua Aerobics 4 Kids at the Ararat Fitness Centre, a creative Gallery Drop-in Session, and the family-friendly Mission To The Moon performance at Ararat Town Hall.
Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Bob Sanders, said the school holiday program provided a simple way for families to enjoy time together close to home. “School holidays are a good opportunity for families to get out and about, try something different, and enjoy the many places and activities available across Ararat,” Cr Sanders said.
“There is something on offer for different ages and interests, whether children are keen to get creative, build with LEGO, watch a movie, get active in the pool, or head along to a live performance.”
Activities in the upcoming schedule include:
- Movie Monday at Ararat Gallery TAMA, Monday 28 September, 2 pm to 4 pm
- PlayGym at Ararat Fitness Centre, Monday 28 September and Thursday 1 October, with sessions for children aged 0 to 4 years from 9.15 am to 10 am, and children aged 4 to 12 years from 10 am to 11 am. Cost is $9 per child, and bookings are essential by calling 5352 1064
- Mission To The Moon at Ararat Town Hall, Tuesday 29 September, 1 pm to 1.55 pm. Tickets start from $10, with bookings and enquiries available through ararattownhall.com.au or 1800 657 158
- Aqua Aerobics 4 Kids at Ararat Fitness Centre, Tuesday 29 September and Thursday 1 October, 4.30 pm. Suitable for children aged five and over, at a cost of $8 per child. Bookings are essential by calling 5352 1064
- Extended LEGO Club at Ararat Gallery TAMA, Thursday 1 October, 3 pm to 5 pm
- Activity Station at Ararat Gallery TAMA, available daily until Friday 2 October, 10 am to 4 pm. The self-guided activity is located in the Gallery foyer and is free for all ages
- Gallery Drop-in Session at Ararat Gallery TAMA, Friday 2 October, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Children aged 3 to 16 years can take part in assorted art activities in the Gallery Studio.
A number of activities are free, while some have a small entry fee or require bookings. Families are encouraged to check session details before attending.
