Upgrade Works Begin at Grevillea Street Playground
Ararat Rural City Council is pleased to share that upgrade works have begun at the Grevillea Street Playground in Ararat.
Council crews have already poured the concrete foundations for brand-new seating at the popular local park. The new seating is designed to boost accessibility, making it easier and more comfortable for parents, grandparents, and visitors of all abilities to spend time together outdoors.
The upgrade forms part of Council’s ongoing commitment to enhancing open spaces and community facilities across the municipality.
The Grevillea Street Playground was officially opened in December 1996 by the then Deputy Mayor, Cr Bert Mayberry, and Gasons’ Managing Director, Mr Les Gason, said the park has since provided an important recreational space for the local community.
Mayor Cr Bob Sanders said, "Grevillea Street Playground has been bringing local families together for nearly thirty years. We’re focused on preserving the park’s long history while ensuring it remains a safe, modern, and accessible open space for future generations to enjoy."
