Willaura Outdoor Pool Set To Open For Summer
Ararat Rural City Council is pleased to announce that the Willaura Outdoor Pool is now on track to open for the 2025–26 summer season, with operations aiming to commence by 24 December 2025.
This follows recent developments in essential maintenance works, where a past member of the Willaura pool committee played a key role in helping to save the summer season. The known leak, previously believed to be a major issue, has now been assessed and found to be smaller than first feared, and repair works are currently underway.
Once open, the Willaura pool is expected to operate for the remainder of summer in line with its normal operating hours.
Council apologises to Willaura residents for the delayed opening and acknowledges the impact on local families and community groups who use the pool regularly.
Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison, said the works were necessary to ensure the community can continue to enjoy the facility safely and comfortably. “Council understands how much the Willaura pool means to local families, young people, and visitors, especially during the hotter months, and we are committed to keeping this facility in good condition for the long term,” Dr Harrison said.
“Thank you to residents for your patience and understanding while this important maintenance is completed, and we look forward to seeing people back in the water this summer.”
Further information about the confirmed opening date and operating hours will be shared on Council’s website and social media channels as the season approaches.
