Youth Ignite 2026: Ararat’s Biggest Youth Event Is On This Saturday!

Ararat’s biggest youth event, Youth Ignite 2026, is on this Saturday at Alexandra Oval Precinct, this event is bringing together young people from across the region for an unmissable day of connecting, learning, and lots of fun.

The event line-up includes delicious food trucks, free entertainment, interactive life-skill level up zones, and career advice from community partners including Ambulance Victoria, Angry Angus Mechanical Bull, SES Ararat Unit, Ararat Women's Shed and surrounds, ‘Band in Progress’ performing live, Grampians Ezy Eats, GWMWater, The Hippie Whippy, Chloe's Sweets & Treats, Jesse from Kerplunk! will be doing drum lessons, One Red Tree Resource Centre, Spud Stick and Tyron’s Wildlife Encounters.

All food vendors will accept cash and EFTPOS on the day, and the first 149 attendees will receive a free show bag filled with sweet treats from Flossy’s & Poppy’s, YEAH Crew merch and more!

Proudly presented by Council’s YEAH! Crew (Youth Events, Activities and Happenings), this event is the perfect opportunity for young people to connect with local emergency services, community groups, and education providers at interactive stalls designed to help them level up their future.

Free buses will be running from Buangor, Elmhurst, Maroona, Moyston, Lake Bolac, Pomonal and Willaura. Bus timetables are available on Council’s website. We ask that bus passengers register for a ticket via TryBooking and provide their location on the form so their bus stop can be confirmed. Tickets must be shown to the bus driver for departure and return to our outer townships.

"This event is about bringing our region’s young people together so that they have the opportunity to make new friends, learn something new and gain valuable insights to help them plan for their future careers" said Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Bob Sanders.

"Investing in our youth also means investing in the future of our region, and that’s a real priority for Council.  We’ve provided free buses for our townships to help make this event more accessible and I encourage people to take advantage of that. It’s an entirely free event where the whole family are welcome, and not one to be missed.”

Youth Ignite 2026 is strictly a smoking, vaping, e-cigarette, drug, and alcohol-free event. Professional crowd control and community safety partners will be on-site throughout the day.
