About Pomonal
A picturesque village in close proximity to Lake Fyans and below Mt Cassell, Pomonal is a 36 kilometre drive north-west of Ararat.
Pomonal’s hallmark is it’s spectacular variety of wildflowers. Pomonal’s Native Flower Show is held annually in Spring. The show features flowers originating from all over Australia, from the spectacular to the small and pretty. Over 400 named species are displayed and all flowers are picked from members’ gardens. See a huge range of grevilleas and hakeas, eucalypts, darwineas and waratahs.
The Pomonal Tunnel Walking track starts at the Pomonal Hall on the Ararat Road. Further down the road is the Halls Gap Zoo open daily 10am-5pm, Halls Gap Estate, Pomonal Estate and a number of other attractions.
The Pomonal Village Market is held on the last Sunday of each month. A host of stallholders sell products such as plants, biscuits and cakes, books, woollen goods, hand painted china, handmade jewellery, photography and much more.
