Pests and Weeds

Ararat municipality is threatened by many species of invasive pests and weeds. These species threaten native biodiversity by competing for and destroying habitat, and hunting and killing wildlife. Many of these species are listed as noxious under the Victorian Catchment and Land Protections (CaLP) Act 1994, as they can be a serious threat to agriculture, public land, the environment, and the health of the community.
